In Greater Chennai Corporation, there are 3 divisions which are mentioned below;

North Chennai Thiruvottiyur, Madhavaram, Kolathur, Perambur, Dr Radhakrishnan Nagar, Royapuram, Harbour, Thiru. vi. ka Nagar.

Residential Rs 0.60 – Rs 2.40
NNon-Residential Rs 4 -Rs 12

Plinth Area Basic Rate Per sq ft (1,000 sq ft Rs 1) Monthly Rental Value = Rs 1,000 per month.
Annual rental value = Rs 1,000 (12 months) -10% for land. Annual value for building only).

Less 10% depreciation for the building (repairs /maintenance)

Rs 12,000 -Rs 1,200 = Rs 10,800
Depreciated value of the building Rs 10,800 -Rs 1,080 = Rs 9,720.

  4. On the next page, you will see the amount to be paid will be displayed.
  5. Once you choose the mode of payment you shall receive a payment notification acknowledgement.
  6. You need to save the print of the receipt for future reference.

Greater Chennai Corporation Property/ House Tax Payment via Offline

Apart from the Online Mode of Payment, residents can also pay their property tax offline by submitting a Cheque/ Demand Draft which shall be drawn in favor of The Revenue Officer, Corporation of Chennai. Payment can be made to Tax Collectors and also to Authorized banks like Kotak Mahindra Bank, Lakshmi Vilas Bank, Yes Bank, IndusInd, Indian Overseas Bank, and Karur Vysya Bank. The Chennai Municipal Corporation has also tied up with the Federal Bank to provide a Cheque deposit machine.
