Half Yearly Tax = Base Street BSR x Area of the Building x 135.40 (factor)

  2. Or visit the Property Tax Online Payment Portal i.e. https://tnurbanepay.tn.gov.in/
  3. Scroll Down and Click on Property Tax Payment.
  4. On the Next page again Click on Property Tax Online Payment.
  5. You will be redirected to a New page Select Zone No, Division Code, Bill No and then Click on Pay Tax.
  6. Next page you need to Select your Mode of Payment either by Debit or Credit Card or Online Mode of Payment.

  1. Payment can also be done at the Revenue office please find the link for the same https://chennaicorporation.gov.in/gcc/who-is-who/index_data.jsp.
  2. Tax payment can be done by either cheque /DD in favor of The “Revenue Officer”, Corporation of Chennai
    • e.g: For Salem, Please use “The Revenue Officer, Corporation of Salem” In place of: “The Revenue Officer, Corporation of Chennai”
  3. Property tax is accepted by Proper Challan at this venue.
  4. Once payment is done the payer can collect the Receipt and take the Print for the Same.

Coonoor Municipality Property Tax Exemption

Properties owned by the central government and buildings occupied by International agencies are exempted from Property tax. Apart from these NGOs, Buildings occupied by ex-defense personnel are exempted from paying Property Tax.

Concessions are provided for the same;

  1. 20 percent rebate in the case of semi-permanent buildings.
  2. 25% rebate on monthly RLV in case the owner resides in a residential building and 10% rebate in case the owner is part of the occupied commercial part of the building.
  3. 1% Depreciation if the building is more than 4 years old.
